The Grizzlies started the third on an impressive 28-5 run to take control. Randolph tallied eight points during the burst, which Gasol ended with a slam for a 79-61 lead with over four minutes left. Memphis held an 83-73 margin heading to the fourth.

Hansbrough made three foul shots about 3 1/2 minutes into the fourth to cut the gap to 86-80. However, Memphis responded with a 14-2 spurt to essentially seal the victory. Sam Young's jumper capped the run to make it 100-82 with 4 1/2 minutes to play.

Memphis started the game on a 20-8 run, which Gay capped off with a three- point play at the midway point. The Pacers chipped away at their deficit and got within 28-24 on Earl Watson's trey at the end of the period.

Indiana opened the second quarter on a 13-5 spurt. Brandon Rush ended the flurry with a three-pointer to give the Pacers a 37-33 edge with less than 8 1/2 minutes left in the half.

Ford made a jumper moments later to extend Indiana's margin to 44-38 with under six minutes remaining. The Pacers held a 56-51 lead at the break.

Game Notes

The Grizzlies shot 47.2 percent from the floor, while Indiana made 40.7 percent of its shots...The Pacers dropped to 3-9 as the visitor this season...Indiana had won four of six and seven of the previous 10 meetings between the clubs.
